A light weight solar panel on the bag takes renewable energy and charges-up electronic items that you use daily. Think cell phone, PDA, and MP3 player.

Each Noon Solar bag comes with a solar panel, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and cables for your iPod and cell phone. The cell phone cable has a USB connection, and also provided are compatable USB tips for the four most popular phone models. All of the electronics are stored on the inside of the bag, inside a pocket. A user manual is included with each bag.

An ancient Japanese dying method called Shibori was used on untreated hemp and cotton canvas to create this bag. This method includes taking the cloth, hand-tying it with string and bands into gathered, bunched, and twisted forms. The cloth form is soaked in a natural dye bath for up to 3 days. When it is removed from the dye path, the stings and bands are removed, creating a pattern. Each bag is one-of-a-kind, and can never be the exactly the same.

The solar panel charges a battery pack located inside the bag to supply power day or night for your cell phone or iPod. Simply place the solar panel in the bag towards the sun to collect usable energy. Put it in your window at work, home or on the train; face it towards the sun at a cafe — or walk/bike around town with the panel exposed. Even on cloudy or rainy days, energy is collected through the UV light of the sun. On a bright sunny day the battery should be charged in 4-6 hours. On a cloudy day the battery will require a bit more time to charge — about 6-8 hours. The battery pack will hold the suns energy for several days.

RECLAIMABLE/RECYCLABLE:
The solar panels, battery and cables can be safely recycled. The antique brass hardware and zippers can be reclaimed and reused or recycled.
